Towards the middle of the XX Century research centers were created and data come up with a peace paradigm, thus, this essay puts forward some notions about the peace concept, which have been developed from the research. El concepto de paz tiende a usarse cada vez más en el mundo como un concepto coyuntural con el que se acuerda el fin de un conflicto armado, un concepto estructural, ligado a la cultura, inherente al ser humano, sus relaciones y su medio ambiente. Puede definirse con múltiples características y diversos vínculos, puesto que es plural, relativo, polisémico y dinámico; además, es polémico, debido a que se nutre de “paces” y no de “paz”. A mediados del siglo XX se crean centros de investigación y análisis que convierten a la paz en paradigma, por tanto, este artículo presenta unas nociones del concepto de paz que se han venido desarrollando en la investigación. O conceito de paz tende a ser usado cada vez mais no mundo como um conceito conjuntural com o qual se acerta o fim de um conflito armado, um conceito estrutural, ligado à cultura, inerente ao ser humano, suas relações e seu meio ambiente. Pode ser definido com múltiplas características e elos diversos vínculos, uma vez que é plural, relativo, polissêmico e dinâmico; além disso, é polêmico, porque é nutrido de “pazes” e não de “paz”. Em meados do século XX, foram criados centros de pesquisa e análise que fazem da paz um paradigma, por isso, este artigo apresenta algumas noções do conceito de paz que vêm sendo desenvolvidas na pesquisa.
