Sumario: | The purpose of this article is to provide a qualitative and critical analysis of the role of the Organization of American States (OAS) in the verification process of the agreements that led to the demobilization of paramilitary groups in Colombia, specifically during the mandates of President Álvaro Uribe Vélez. In this sense, this study offers an analysis of the history of the OAS as a mediator of conflicts and democratic crises in Latin America, to identify its limitations in the proposed context. |
