Este trabajo integra bajo el sistemismo de Mario Bunge una concepción más amplia de la idea de cultura. Al considerar cualquier sistema semiótico como un sistema de símbolos que abarca también a sus usuarios, y cada cultura como un sistema semiótico, esta propuesta posibilita una asociación entre sistemas de símbolos inmateriales y aquellos con una base socio-material mediante una formulación que no es netamente material ni conceptual sino que combina elementos de ambos.
