Un factor clave para el estudio de las regiones transfronterizas lo constituyen las cadenas de valor que organizan los intercambios económicos. Este artículo explora este tema en una región de la frontera dominico-haitiana (Elías Piña-Departamento central) centrando su análisis en las cadenas agroalimentarias. A efectos de lo anterior, se estudiaron seis productos agrícolas que cruzan el borde en una u otra dirección, para lo cual se realizaron observaciones, recopilaciones estadísticas y entrevistas a actores clave de estos procesos.
