Sumario: | This research analyzes the legal, financing and sustainability model in relation to the principles of the Solidarity Economy in 12 alternative media in Spain through a content analysis. The parameters that govern the analysis are established through the observation of four key axes: Legal structure; Income level and balance; Income distribution and diversification of sources and Crowdfunding. It is checked if the analyzed means manage to generate an alternative model to the conventional one. The results express a diversification of economic sources and the relevant contribution of collective financing via partner-subscribers, the main income being in seven of eight media that publish their accounts. It is also concluded that the media that are structured in cooperatives and non-profit associations have a greater diversity of sources of financing compared to principal private limited company. This research provides data on what sources of financing are contributing to the consolidation of the informative projects, being a relevant aspect for the design of new ventures and for the study of the factors that affect its viability. |
