Sumario: | Children and adolescent's participation is -or should be- a concern of the states that adhered to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). This article aims to understand community building between children and adults and the tensions that arise when they attempt to associate. In-depth interviews and participant observation were conducted to produce information on the experience of participation in a partnership initiative between children and adults promoted by a network of NGOs in Chile. Among the findings were difficulties related to the distribution of responsibilities and the demands of institutional policy. It also highlights the elements that make up community building in the case study and establishes a that contrasts models of participation for community programming. |
