Sumario:This research study addresses gender differences in practices and interactions in participatory discussion forums for readers in online press, particularly in news commentaries in the online newspaper found on the website www.Emol.com. According to the proposed objectives and the nature of the corpus of this research study, content analysis was used as a technique to describe and unveil gender differences, taking note that, despite the existence of new tools of participation in online press, which are geared at enriching public discussion about social and political affairs and also fostering the incorporation of citizens in the public arena. These tools, in addition to the full incorporation of women into the public realm, they reinforce gender inequalities and stereotypes.
