Devido a sua disponibilização e facilidade de aplicação, omodelo hidrológico TOPMODEL tornou-se um dos modelosmais populares, gerando um grande número de trabalhos comaplicações e modificações. O presente trabalho tem comoobjetivo realizar uma revisão bibliográfica e integração dateoria do modelo TOPMODEL. Esse modelo é baseado naárea variável de contribuição. Essa característica dinâmicae distribuída da bacia é simulada através dos dois principaisparâmetros do modelo: (1) índice topográfico que é função daárea acumulada e declividade de cada célula; e (2) déficit dearmazenamento que representa a quantidade de água disponívelno solo para cada célula.
