A Geografia acadêmica tem como pressupostos o impasse aristotélico-kantiano e o paradigma baconiano-cartesiano-newtoniano. Destas problemáticas emerge um imbróglio lógico, remetendo o espaço a uma abordagem epistemológica, de característica externa à existência humana. Os frutos são as dicotomias: homem/natureza, homem/meio e homem/espaço.
