Submission: 2019-08-19 Nesse texto o objetivo é analisar como a violência simbólica exercida contra as mulheres no espaço familiar se estende ao espaço acadêmico universitário brasileiro. A hipótese é que neste processo são reproduzidas as estruturas de dominação simbólica masculina desenhadas pela família patriarcal brasileira durante gerações, o que torna este tipo de violência mais sutil se comparada à violência física, mas não menos devastadora. Estudantes universitárias brasileiras são constantemente alvo de agressões verbais, humilhações, abusos morais e psicológicos por parte de professores, colegas e funcionários que compartilham com elas o espaço acadêmico, mais tais atos são recorrentemente naturalizados pelos agressores, e, muitas vezes, também pelas próprias vítimas por estarem impregnados na sociedade brasileira. A análise se apoia principalmente nos estudos de Bourdieu sobre a dominação masculina e o poder e a violência simbólicos.
