Results revealed representations about autism related to deficits and losses of child, with a larger dimension in a analysis of individual and collective actions for the construction of inclusive spaces. In addition, reflection on contradictions between educational policies and possibilities of carrying out more humane and inclusive educational practices was highlighted. O método utilizado foi baseado na pesquisa ação, que é uma pesquisa centrada diretamente numa situação ou problema coletivo, no qual participantes estão envolvidos de modo cooperativo ou participativo. Os resultados revelaram concepções sobre o autismo ligadas aos déficits e prejuízos da criança, tendo maior dimensão na análise as ações individuais e coletivas para construção de espaços inclusivos. Ademais teve destaque a reflexão acerca das contradições entre as políticas educacionais e as possibilidades de realizar práticas educacionais mais humanas e inclusivas.
