Sumario:The objective of this article was to identify the activities that contribute most to the acquisition of didactic-pedagogical skills of teachers of undergraduate courses in Civil Engineering, Computing, Electrical, Electronics and Mechanics on three campus of a public university in southern Brazil. The research methodology used was the mixed sequential explanatory design, in which quantitative data were collected and, subsequently, to deepen these results, interviews were conducted with teachers. The main results show that the experience acquired in the day-to-day consists of the main source of contribution to the acquisition of didactic-pedagogical skills, despite the Brazilian legislation predicting that the preparation for teaching in higher education takes effect  in graduate courses.
