Sumario:The aim of this article is to present the meanings produced by future Mathematics teachers on Youth and Adult Education (EJA), from the point of view of the Historical-Cultural Perspective, particularly Vygotsky's concepts of senses and meanings. The methodological procedures were based on the idea of the Nuclei of Meaning for apprehension of sense and meanings constituted by the subject face to the reality. The data were constituted through open questionnaires. Through the analysis, four nuclei of significance: EJA’ inferior status, reflections of legal documents and approximations with the EJA, EJA and the socioeconomic system and EJA as a right. The need to include reflecting on the subject in question in teacher training courses is elucidated, since the conditions created in this context have not been enough for the graduate to appropriate the meanings about EJA and teaching in this modality
