description This text discusses, based on the theoretical and conceptual contribution of Dermeval Saviani and Paulo Freire, the authors' contributions to the debate on the categories, education, teaching and research. In terms of sources, a classic bibliography of the aforementioned authors is used, seeking to examine in the content of their own texts the possibility of a formative overlap between teaching and research. I concluded that although the concept of education is not so antagonistic among the authors, it is seen that in Saviani there is the proposition of different roles for teaching and research, while in Freire, the relationship between teaching and research projects a critical, reflective education and dialogical.

En cuanto a las fuentes, se utiliza una bibliografía clásica de los autores mencionados, buscando examinar en el contenido de sus propios textos la posibilidad de un solapamiento formativo entre docencia e investigación. Concluí que aunque el concepto de educación no es tan antagónico entre los autores, se ve que en Saviani se proponen diferentes roles para la docencia y la investigación, mientras que en Freire, la relación entre docencia e investigación proyecta una educación crítica y reflexiva. y dialógico. Este texto discute a partir do aporte teórico-conceitual de Dermeval Saviani e Paulo Freire, as contribuições dos autores para o debate das categorias, educação, ensino e pesquisa. Em termos de fontes, utiliza-se de uma bibliografia clássica dos autores supramencionados, buscando examinar no conteúdo dos seus próprios textos a possibilidade de uma imbricação formativa entre ensino e pesquisa.
