To achieve this, the study initially proceeds with an analysis of experimental psychology postulates synthesized by Jean Piaget. Then, it recovers the New School Movement historical link with experimental psychology in Brazil. Finally, it focuses on the manual, through documental research and textual analysis, seeking to understand a dimension of the teacher training history in Brazil and its relation with the New School Movement.

Este estudio propone discutir el papel que desempeña Escola Nova en el diseño de manuales de capacitación docente para el área lingüística, específicamente a través del análisis del manual de Metodología del lenguaje, por Orlando Leal Carneiro, publicado en 1959. Para hacerlo, inicialmente, se procede a Un análisis de postulados de psicología experimental sintetizados por Jean Piaget. Luego, recupera el vínculo histórico de Escola Nova, en Brasil, con la psicología experimental. Finalmente, se enfoca en el manual, a través de la investigación documental y el análisis textual, buscando comprender una dimensión de la historia de la formación docente en Brasil y su vínculo con Escola Nova. Este estudo propõe discutir o papel que a Escola Nova exerce na concepção de manuais de formação de professores para a área de linguagem, especificamente pela análise do manual Metodologia da Linguagem, de Orlando Leal Carneiro, publicado em 1959. Para tanto, inicialmente, procede a uma análise de postulados da psicologia experimental sintetizados por Jean Piaget. Em seguida, recupera o vínculo histórico da Escola Nova, no Brasil, com a psicologia experimental.
