O presente trabalho pretende analisar a experiência do rastro colonial no romance Crónica da Rua 513.2, do moçambicano João Paulo Borges Coelho. Ao pensarmos o texto ficcional no formato de crônica, como o romancista assim o pretende, verificamos que ele o faz desta maneira para que também atentemos para as diversas partes em que esta sociedade pós-colonial foi dividida. Pensaremos ainda sobre a importância da memória para este país que a tão pouco tempo conhece a expressão “independência”, embora esta tenha demorado tanto a chegar, é importante lembrar, para que o que foi importante não seja esquecido.
