Este texto é um esforço conjunto por parte de uma antropóloga brasileira e um historiador moçambicano de pensar elementos da materialidade que constituem e caracterizam a Ilha de Moçambique. Abordaremos dois “objetos”, um na esfera da arquitetura, o macuti, e outro na esfera do vestuário, a capulana, apresentando sua relevância social e algumas das múltiplas formas de uso e significados que lhes são associados.
