Pretendemos, por meio da reflexão aqui contida, nos debruçar sobre alguns princípios de uma sociologia que infelizmente foi renegada ao limbo das ciências sociais, condenada a ser apreciada apenas pela “crítica roedora dos ratos”. Nos referimos à teoria sociológica desenvolvida por Gabriel Tarde. Sendo mais específico, nosso foco se concentrará na noção tardiana de imitação e como ela se mostra o pilar fundador da sua noção de sociedade. Por fim, articularemos essa reflexão ao nosso próprio contexto sócio-histórico de formação, a fim de encontrar substratos para a explicação da perspectiva sociológica tardiana.
