O presente artigo é fruto de uma reflexão acerca das formas com que a paisagem urbana se (re)produz e se manifesta tanto no espaço físico da cidade quanto na percepção subjetiva das pessoas que transitam, habitam e/ou trabalham nele. Temos como objetivo específico refletir de que modo o projeto de revitalização urbana, instaurado na Avenida Sete de Setembro no município de Araraquara - São Paulo - transformou sua paisagem e as relações estabelecidas ali entre as pessoas umas com as outras. Para isso, utilizamos reportagens, a fala de pessoas que trabalham/vivem neste espaço, imagens e, principalmente, nossa própria observação participante da avenida. Finalmente, percebemos que o espaço nas cidades está sendo direcionado à produção capitalista.
