In order to do so, a biographical journey is made, naming those who helped him in this endeavor. In this sense, we turn to Mémoires d’outre tombe (1849-1850) in which the explanations provided by the author based his literary thinking. America also played a key role in his personal maturation process. |

A importância do referido escritor para os Estudos Literários marcou uma série de influências no movimento posterior a que intitulamos Romantismo. Dito isso, o presente artigo objetiva apresentar o desabrochar da consciência artística de Chateaubriand bem como ressaltar a importância de seu universo particular em suas obras literárias. Para tanto, efetiva-se um percurso biográfico, nomeando aqueles que o auxiliaram nessa empreitada. Nesse sentido, servimo-nos de Mémoires d’outre tombe (1849-1850) em que as explicações fornecidas pelo próprio autor embasaram seu pensamento literário.
