It is precisely in this space that arise the storytellers and the oral tradition of Désert. Désert revela uma constante da obra lecléziana: a cidade apresenta um caráter maléfico, opondo-se aos espaços naturais, fonte de paz e liberdade incomparáveis. Assim, o deserto vai aparecer como um espaço sagrado, favorável ao sonho e às recordações do passado e, logo, propiciador à afloração das lendas, crenças e tradições culturais de um povo. É justamente neste espaço que surgirão os contadores de história e a tradição oral de Désert.
