O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a estrutura trágica do romance Madame Bovary, de Gustave Flaubert, a partir da perspectiva psicanalítica – mais especificamente, da análise sobre as contradições entre os desejos individuais e a construção da vida social empreendida por Freud em seu trabalho O mal-estar na civilização.
