Sumario: | This paper focuses on the life histories of the Finnish immigrants that settled in Penedo, in the southern part of the state of Rio de Janeiro during the first half of the 20th century and on the process of readhesion to the Finnish identity. Through the perspective of their trajectories and discourses, the goal is to problematize the configuration of a Finnish identity in the tropics, during and following the dissolution of the collective colonization project. |
