Sumario:The objective is to offer an analysis of the scientific production about sustainability in ecology and sociology, in the gap between Rio92 and Rio+20. We intend to observe the conceptual changes of the term in the sciences that nourish the debate on environment and society. The focus is on the tension between disciplinarity and interdisciplinarity in the context of relation establishment between scientific artifact and political propositivity. Then it has been analyzed fifteen out of twenty five articles largely mentioned in the site web of science in each of the sciences, on the subject sustainability and sustainable, between 1990 and 2010. The analysis has been based on the theory of reflexive modernization and on social studies of the science.
