Sumario:This paper intends to analyse the Brazilian audiovisual politics in a historical perspective and to present the general outlines of the regulatory model of the macro set of the mass media. When the communication nets, especially the internet, begin to reorganize themselves as cultural industry, as means of communication and as a place where people interact, the result is that those old cultural industries begin to reorganize themselves in order to profit from the new opportunities brought by them. The result of this fact is that people begin to spend less time with the old cultural industries.
