Further to provide an initial theoretical instrumental for the reflections about these workers, we intend to localize them within migration theme and the conflict between capital and labor in these days, in its neoliberal context and struggle forms. For such, we used reflections about labor and migration, also different kind of documents about herders in both countries. |

No mundo contemporâneo e no mercado de trabalho da agricultura globalizada, tornou-se corrente a utilização de trabalhadores imigrantes temporários em países economicamente desenvolvidos. Com apoio governamental, países como Estados Unidos e Canadá estimulam e legitimam a entrada de estrangeiros para ocupar postos e funções que não são preenchidas pelos nacionais, consolidando o deslocamento de uma mão-de-obra barata e que permanece legalmente por determinados períodos de tempo nesses países. O presente artigo traz à tona questões preliminares sobre um grupo relativamente pequeno e de pouca visibilidade dentre os imigrantes rurais, os herders, peões de gado ovino e caprino na solidão das montanhas rochosas norte-americanas. Além de fornecer um instrumental teórico inicial para a reflexão sobre esses trabalhadores, objetivamos inseri-los dentro da amplitude da questão imigratória no atual conflito entre capital e trabalho, em seu contexto neoliberal e as formas de luta.
