A formação dos “economistas”, sejam eles “profissionais” (exercendo a profissão deeconomista, em toda sua diversidade, no seio das universidades, da administração pública, dasorganizações profissionais ou das empresas) ou simplesmente “diplomados em economia” (queencontramos em diversos setores de atividade, primeiramente no banco, na finança e naadministração), doravante contribui em primeiro plano para a construção de uma ordem simbólicacentrada no mercado. Este se torna ainda mais facilmente uma realidade social óbvia, quase natural -cujas “leis” se impõem ao conjunto dos atores sociais, em particular os atores políticos - na medida emque ele foi formatado simbolicamente e promovido pelos atores de uma disciplina científica, em queele socializou os agentes dominantes e em que ele serve, de agora em diante, como universo dereferencia para as instituições políticas, administrativas e econômicas.
