Next, the agroecology presents herself as a new approach, to orientate the transition from unsustainable models of agriculture and development to sustainable styles of agricultures. The article presents the familiar agriculture while privileged actor inside programs and politics of rural development, under the perspective of agroecology and the redirection of co-evolution between social and agroenvironmental systems. |

O presente artigo traz reflexões sobre meio ambiente e sociedade à luz da agroecologia. Partindo da idéia de co-evolução entre sistemas sociais e sistemas ambientais, faz-se uma crítica ao reducionismo científico, que está na origem de uma série de problemas sócio-ambientais, tendo no processo de modernização da agricultura uma das suas faces. Em seguida, apresenta-se a agroecologia como novo enfoque, para orientar a transição de modelos de agricultura e de desenvolvimento insustentáveis para estilos de agriculturas e de desenvolvimento sustentáveis.
