Sumario: | The Lusiads Spanish translations history reveals a lack of regularity over time. It is possible to determine two fundamental phases in which a large number of Spanish versions emerge: in the Iberian Union time and in the second half of the 19th century. What is most striking is the fact that there isn’t any translation during almost two centuries. The present paper tries to deepen the most important causes that explain this peculiar process of The Lusiads reception in Spain. |
