The novel is a novel where things triumph over people and these things are strong markers in a regional and/or national identity level. |

Se a identidade de um povo pode ser construída através de sua língua, também o mesmo fenômeno pode ser verificado através da literatura e da gastronomia. Os múltiplos nexos entre a gastronomia/ alimentação e identidade estão presentes na literatura, especificamente na literatura italiana, desde a Antiguidade aos nossos dias.
