Sumario: | This text proposes a critical revision of the way the concept of “Latin America” has been read, which informs the relations between part of the American continent with both Europe and the United States, through an analysis of the question of reading in the theoretical-critical work of Silviano Santiago, especially the books Uma Literatura nos Trópicos, Ora (Direis) Puxar Conversa! and As Raízes e o Labirinto da América Latina. To rethink the traditional reading of the concept of Latin-Americanicity can be a manner of helping the process of decolonization of the countries defined by this concept. |
