Os útlimos golpes militares na Argentina e no Brasil deixaram seqüelas que podem ser percebidas ainda hoje na sociedade, sendo o exílio uma delas. Dentre os grupos que vivenciaram a experiência do exílio, está o de escritores que abandoram seu país por motivos que vão desde serem perseguidos por suas idéias contrárias à nova ordem estabelecida até procurarem liberdade para expressar-se.
