O presente artigo discute a política econômica no período entre 2015 e 2018 a partir de uma perspectiva crítica. Discutimos as causas da forte recessão de 2015 e 2016, atribuindo à política neoliberal grande responsabilidade no desencadeamento e aprofundamento da crise. Também abordamos a frágil retomada verificada em 2017-2018. Buscamos fazer a crítica da proposição segundo a qual o problema central da economia seria a crise fiscal, indicando que o problema fiscal decorre, em grande medida, da política de juros elevados defendida pelo capital financeiro.
