Tomando em consideração a inserção da produção de significados nas sociedades hodiernas, neste artigo procurar-se-á definir algumas coordenadas centrais acerca da relação entre a produção cultural e ideológica e o modo de produção capitalista. Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste artigo é duplo. Por um lado, dar conta de algumas propriedades estruturantes da ligação multidimensional e complexa entre a produção da vida social e as formas de consciência humana; por outro lado, apresentar e identificar coordenadas presentes na estruturação do campo cultural e ideológico como um espaço relativamente autônomo da vida social.
