Deputies fired were effective workers and labour movement activists and these social and political origins had indeed great influence on the violent and informal character of the process they suffered, in which was lacked any real right of self defense. The documents concerning the event were displayed to public’s knowledge only 34 years after 1964. |

O presente artigo analisa o rito sumário do processo de cassação do mandato político de três deputados da Assembléia Legislativa de Minas Gerais, no mês de abril de 1964, logo após a intervenção militar que depôs o governo constitucional do Presidente João Goulart. Os deputados, de origem operária, eram também sindicalistas. Em função de sua origem social e de sua militância foram vítimas de procedimentos discriminatórios, lesivos a seus direitos de cidadãos.
