Este texto pretende mostrar que o mesmo ato que funda a sociabilidade capitalista é o que dá origem à cidadania. E que, por ser fundada na desigualdade social é ela, necessariamente, uma forma parcial, limitada e formal de liberdade. Homens efetivamente livres só poderão existir se e quando for superada a atual ordem social por uma outra cujo ato fundante seja o trabalho associado.
