Este trabajo hace un análisis sucinto de algunos de los cambios en la formulación e implementación de la política exterior de Venezuela a partir de la llegada de Chávez a la Presidencia del país y, eventualmente, en algunos de sus contenidos. De esta manera el propósito de este texto es comprender los factores que han contribuido para la transformación de estos cambios, particularmente en función del activo involucramiento personal del presidente Chávez en su formulación y ejecución y del background al que responde.
