Utilization of documentary research and content analysis as techniques for collecting data. Utilization of a sampling taken from the FSP, in edition published from the 1st to the 12th of april, 1992. Partial confirmation of principal hypothesis. Identification of principal ways in which news is falsified and/or manipulated: to show off, fragmentation, personalization, politics of distinction and supression of information.

Analisa-se a produção noticiosa da Folha de S. Paulo-FSP, com ênfase para a aplicação do conceito de notícia do jornal e do Projeto Folha, em sua prática atual. Detectam-se as principais formas de falseamento da informação. Adota-se a concepção crítica de notícia, englobando conceitos que a consideram como informação transformada em mercadoria. Pressupõe-se, basicamente, que tanto o conceito de notícia da FSP como os critérios de produção noticiosa do Projeto Folha constituem, essencialmente, estratégia de marketing, atrelada à ética de mercado que rege o jornal. Empregam-se as técnicas de pesquisa documental e análise de conteúdo. Utiliza-se amostra constituída de 12 edições da FSP, no período de 1 a 12 de abril de 1992. Confirma-se, parcialmente, a pressuposição básica.
