Over time, political theory and art are responsible for new ways of thinking and acting political, in a perspective or another. In this article, we discuss how theater and political theory are juxtaposed and how theater includes political thought, by understanding politics as conflict and violence or politics as consensus and freedom. By appropriatingpolitic theories, theater can reveal its bigger or smaller political character. |

La diversidad de paradigmas teóricos en la historia del pensamiento político revela diferentes interpretaciones de las relaciones sociales. No hay un resultado exacto para cada comprensión de la realidad; por el contrario, cada paradigma es un modelo para la formulación de nuevas teorías, y brinda una mirada específica al describir el mundo empírico. Son las teorías las que crean proposiciones acerca de lo que debería existir y que fertilizan al mundo del arte, generando una nueva perspectiva, una nueva mirada: la del artista, del dramaturgo y del director. A lo largo del tiempo, teoría política y arte son responsables por nuevas formas de reflexión y actitud política. En esteartículo, discutiremos cómo el teatro y la teoría política están yuxtapuestos y de qué forma el teatro se dimensiona y se adueña del pensamiento político, ya sea por la comprensión de la política como conflicto y violencia o de la política como consenso y libertad. De la apropiación que hace el teatro de la teoría podemos revelar su mayor o menor carácter político. A diversidade de paradigmas teóricos na história do pensamento político revela diferentes interpretações das relações sociais. Não há um resultado exato para cada entendimento da realidade, ao contrário, cada paradigma é um modelo para a formulação de novas teorias que apresentam um olhar específico ao descrever o mundo empírico. São as teorias que criam proposições acerca do que deveria existir e assim fertilizam o mundo da arte. Ao fazê-lo, ganham uma nova perspectiva, um novo olhar, o do artista, do dramaturgo e do diretor. Ao longo do tempo, teoria política e arte são respon-sáveis por novas formas de reflexão e ação política, seja em uma perspec-tiva ou em outra. Neste artigo, discutiremos como o teatro e a teoria política estão justapostos e de que forma ocorre a dimensão e a apropriação do pen-samento político pelo teatro, seja pelo entendimento da política como conflito e violência ou da política como consenso e liberdade.
