En el cincuentenario de su muerte (16 de abril de 1930), José Carlos Mariátegui es, sin duda, uno de los políticos e intelectuales más significativos del Perú moderno. Nos enfrenta, sin embargo, hoy a una necesaria labor de revisión de su obra, a un urgente examen de sus interpretaciones sobre los problemas concretos de la realidad social de este país. Ofrecemos este conjunto de cartas, gentilmente proporcionadas por la familia Mariátegui, en la seguridad de que contribuirán a sustentar un conocimiento cada vez más sólido y real del hombre y la obra.
