Sumario: | This article is the result of the research project State Violence in Brazil: A Study of the Crimes of May 2006 from the Perspective of Forensic Anthropology and Transitional Justice, which involved researchers from the Federal University of São Paulo and the Mothers of May Movement, in partnership with Oxford University. In opposition to the culture of impunity in Brazil, which is responsible for human rights violations, the investigation focuses on the analysis of sixty cases (among almost 500 in the state of São Paulo) of youths executed by the military police in the Baixada Santista region between the 12th and the 20th of May of 2006. Here, we present the context and narratives of the families of the victims: the dissonant voices of those days of pain. |
