Esse texto busca contextualizar a formulação da autora sobre o nó de gênero, raça/etnia e classe; que é, basicamente, a articulação do que a autora considera as três contradições fundantes da nossa sociedade. Entendemos que a contribuição de Saffioti é uma abordagem, brasileira, da teoria da articulação de gênero, raça e classe. Dessa forma, situamos a autora no campo de estudos sobre interseccionalidades, ressaltando a importância da contribuição da autora na análise da relação entre os aspectos da diversidade social brasileira e suas relações com a desigualdade de classes.
