description In a context marked by the abrupt deceleration of the economy and a new corruption scandal affecting the parties of the governing coalition, we are witnessing the rise in Brazil of a “new” right, which is radical and militant. Arising from the June 2013 mobilizations, it is a heterogeneous collection of different origins and identities, without any apparent link except a common aversion to the left in general and the PT in particular. Sharing more than a family resemblance with the Tea Party in the United States, from which it take its ultraliberal, security-focused and anti-solidarity discourse.

Sharing more than a family resemblance with the Tea Party in the United States, from which it take its ultraliberal, security-focused and anti-solidarity discourse.
