Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar o ainda pouco conhecido Modelo Social da Deficiência.Ao compreender a deficiência como uma construção social, o modelo subsidiou a luta pelaintegração social das pessoas com deficiência. Além de sua definição clássica, críticas eparte de seus desenvolvimentos teóricos também serão tratados.
