Em 2008, ocasião das comemorações dos 40 anos de Maio de 1968,entrevistamos Heleieth Saffioti em seu amplo e iluminado apartamento. O moteera ela contar o que fazia naquele ano, onde vivia, quais eram suas atividades,quais as impressões do período e quais as contribuições deste às CiênciasSociais. As lembranças eram tantas e tão intensas que sua narrativa se restringiuaos acontecimentos que vão de 1961, quando concorre e ganha o cargo deprofessora da Unesp de Araraquara, a 1967, ano de defesa de sua tese de livredocência,depois transformada no livro A mulher na sociedade de classes. Temoso privilégio de apresentar, por meio do relato ininterrupto, a construção dopensamento irreverente da feminista-marxista precursora dos estudos de gênerono Brasil.
