Este artigo realiza uma reflexão teórica sobre as categorias sujeito e estrutura à luz dasobservações empíricas nas pesquisas que venho realizando sobre movimentos populares nacidade de São Paulo. O objetivo é criticar a suposição de que este debate está superado.
