La investigación tiene el propósito de caracterizar la práctica docente a partir del diseño curricular de proyectos formativos con el propósito de lograr la educación por competencias. En tal sentido, nos valemos del estudio de caso en una Institución Educativa Distrital Mundo Bolivariano. Se conforman grupos focales compuestos por directivos, docentes, estudiantes y expertos en currículo que conforman la unidad educativa. Seguidamente, nos valemos del análisis de datos a través de documentos, entrevistas e investigación bibliográfica con la finalidad de recabar información pertinente. Identificamos que el currículo excluye la identificación plena de las situaciones y características de contexto. También, los docentes carecen de la debida capacitación para organizar y efectuar la educación por competencias.
