Os mapas históricos vem sendo objeto de interesse especial de pesquisadores de variadas áreas, pela sua importância como registro de valores culturais da sociedade no espaço e no tempo. Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar as interfaces entre a Cartografia Histórica e o geoprocessamento, adotando-se, como exemplo, o georreferenciamento e a vetorização dos mapas da Capitania de Minas Gerais elaborados pelos padres matemáticos Diogo Soares e Domingos Capassi, em 1734. Pretende-se, também, representar o cálculo de rendimentos gerais do Bispado de Mariana, de 1752, por meio de mapas temáticos.
