Sumario:Soil and water management is an important focus in watersheds environmental studies. Integrated data approaches have been carried out, considering the support of geotechnologies. In this aspect remote sensing and geoprocessing technologies can be used for data acquisition, storage, handling and analysis for watersheds studies. In this presentation, it is exemplified a methodology that combines remote sensing, geographical information systems (GIS) technologies and the Modified USLE predictive model to characterize soil erosion potential and risks. The Corumbatai river basin (central- eastern section of Sao Paulo state – Brazil) is the selected area for this study. Temporal analysis are in progress to indicate the more disturbed situation by antropic activities considering land use and cover changes for 1962, 1972, 1988, 1995 and actual scenarios.
