Sumario: | This article focus on the critical analysis of the role of the Brazilian environmental ONGs both in its national and international contexts in the period that follows the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio. It is a theme of difficult approach because of the wide diversity of institutions which are characterized by a large ideological spectrum, and by different and often opposite interests. They also vary according to their degree of dialogue with local communities and with government organizations and transnational agencies of cooperation. The aspects of the environmental subjects analysed throughout the text show how complex this issue is and indicate some research possibilities |
